As a motivational speaker and professional trainer, Joan Hartley, the Queen of UP!, inspires people to ignite their passions and savor the everyday small happenings that make life spectacular. Two failed marriages, one failed business, her son on a nine year journey of mental illness — Joan has learned that life dishes out some tough stuff! She has also learned that she has within herself all the resources she needs to deal with the tough stuff and move on with joy and determination. She is equally at home within organizations to build unstoppable teams or in front of thousands at a conference or convention delighting audiences with her combination of wit and wisdom. Joan began her professional career as a flight attendant, instructor and inflight services supervisor for United Airlines. She has raised three children, served on numerous community boards, dedicated a fair share of her free time to volunteer activities, earned a Master of Science in Management degree, and spent the last ten years self-employed working with organizations to help them transform their teams from ho-hum to energetic, enthusiastic and unstoppable. Joan is the author The Business Owner’s Basic Toolkit for Success, 1999, and The Art of UP! How to Cultivate a CAN DO Outlook and Be a Winner for Life, 2002. Two new books, Hate Work?
